Help Us Raise The Roof On The Borscht Belt Museum!

America’s newest cultural institution is getting a new roof, but we need your help.

Construction crews last month began vital rehabilitation work on our newly acquired home, a century-old bank building in Ellenville, N.Y.

Thanks to a generous challenge grant from The Naiades Fund, all donations up to $75,000 will be matched dollar for dollar to ensure the museum stays dry for decades to come.

Built in 1928, the former Home National Bank is a delightful neo-Georgian landmark that has strong links to the Borscht Belt era as one of the first financial institutions to make loans to the region’s Jewish hoteliers. Our restoration plans will honor the building’s historic past while creating a modern, world-class institution that can host rotating exhibitions, film screenings, lectures and a broad array of educational and public events.
